Morning session under an overpass followed by breakfast at Polonza Bistro? Sign me up!
I’ve know the Weber fam since well before they had their youngest babe. As a matter of fact I was present for his c-section birth and captured that story in full (and Natalie was there for my baby’s birth as well because SHE is an amazing birth photographer!). So you can say we’re sorta kinda close.
Natalie has a super eclectic style, so her choice of backdrop under an overpass in downtown Pensacola didn’t come as a shock to me at all! And honestly I loved it too! The light was perfectly shaded, and the straight lines made for a fun contrast to this family’s fun shots. (Can I get a yeah yeah for all the spinning!?)
Fun fact: I think most people assume that photographer’s kids are just the best at doing sessions. This is wrong. We’re extremely lucky if we get our offspring to cooperate at all! It’s truly a 70/30 chance with 70% being the more likely event that they’ll spaz out. The Weber kids decided to split the middle that morning: Jack was a total doll, and Isla was absolutely not having it. ;) We had to take a whoooole lot of “throwaway shots” before we hit our stellar images you see here. Lol!
That being said, I ADORE those kids. They ended up being chill for us in the end because….waffles.
That’s right. I said waffles.
I’m going to have to insist on more breakfast sessions from now on. Because Polonza Bistro afforded us the best layout with their outdoor seating, and it was amazing to have some true candid fun with the Webers during their first few minutes of coffee and carbs!
Just goes to show with a little patience (and waffle bribery) you can achieve anything!
