Getting to travel for my job is pretty stellar, but when I get to go to the Pacific Northwest I get a little extra excited! Noelle + Eric asked me to capture their incredible wedding day at Yellow Gold Farm in Portland Oregon. And this is one for the books y’all!

Can we just talk about the weather up there?! I’m a Florida girl, so anytime the humidity drops below 80% I get pretty excited. In Oregon you get to actually experience just ONE season in a day. Haha! The venue they selected, Yellow Gold Farms, was as picturesque as they come, too. Everything I could’ve wanted was in one property within walking distance!

Their day was full of Jesus, laughter, fun, and all the love you can imagine! I’m so grateful to know them and to have witnessed such a blessed chapter of their life journey together. They, like almost every one of my couples, have overcome the challenges of COVID and the crazy hoop jumping that goes with it while planning during 2020! :)

(P.S. he’s a music producer, she’s a drummer, and they both sing…which lead to them doing their first dance to a song they WROTE and recorded together!! GO FOLLOW Eric on Instagram!)

More of their story below in their own perfect words!

-How did you two meet/How long have you been together?
We met at Bethel WorshipU in 2019 – and we’ve been together for a year and two months!

-How did he pop the question?
He secretly flew to Oregon and surprised me in my home town by the river.

-What was your absolute favorite part of the day? Does your spouse have a different favorite?
Both of our favorite moments were seeing each other during the aisle walk.

-What surprised you about your wedding day?
We were surprised at the peace we felt through the whole event – despite how hectic and crazy the day was.

-Why did you pick the venue that you chose?
The natural beauty of the landscape – and those trees 🙌🏻

-What was the biggest challenge you faced in planning your wedding?
All of the changing rules of COVID and getting all of our Florida family to Oregon

-What photography-related advice would you offer to other couples?
View the photographers portfolio before making a final decision and then, hire Melissa because she is insanely talented.

-What advice would you offer to other couples planning a wedding?
Star planning early and get a good team of people around you to help plan. And remember at the end of the day it’s about you and your person!

-How was your experience taking photos/working with me on your wedding day?
It was incredible. Melissa was excellent at organizing and corralling all of our friends and family for photos. She communicated with us throughout the entire process and was easy to reach whenever we had questions or thoughts. And of course, the quality of her photos are unreal! (From Melissa: THANK YOU!!!)
